Recently, the installation of No. 1 module Sun Island of the 50,000-kilowatt CSP project in Zhengjiashawo, Yumen City, Gansu Province, has been basically completed. The core component of the project, the heat storage device, is constructed of TISCO high-temperature resistant stainless steel, which has good performance and is well received by users.
The core component of the project, the heat accumulator, needs to operate uninterruptedly at 590°C for 20 years. The selection of materials is extremely demanding, not only to resist salt corrosion, but also to withstand high temperature for a long time. It has been dependent on imports for many years. After learning about the project, TISCO actively cooperated with well-known design institutes in China. According to the special working conditions of the project, TISCO organized experts to conduct research on the composition of stainless steel, high temperature strength, welding performance and other processes for many times. Finally, it broke the foreign technology blockade and successfully developed.The high-temperature-resistant stainless steel products that are stricter than the standard meet the requirements of the design institute and users, and realize the supply of products.
The project is located in the desert area of Yumen City, Gansu Province. It is one of the areas with the highest total solar radiation in Gansu Province. It is a national first-class solar energy resource area. The area of solar power generation projects that can be developed is nearly 3,000 square kilometers. It is reported that more TISCO brand high temperature resistant stainless steel materials will be successively used in CSP projects in western my country.
